Join us for a 5K Trail Run at The Refuge!
Help us raise funds for The Pig Project, a campaign to build infrastructure so we can provide rescued pigs with a forever home.
Saturday, October 10, 2026, 9:00am - 1:00pm
A 5K at an animal sanctuary - what could be better?! In this officially timed race, you’ll make three loops on gravel roads that wind throughout the beautiful fields and forests of Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge. Our rescued goats, sheep, cows, ducks, geese, and chickens will cheer you on as you pass by their houses and habitats! The running path includes access to our new land where future rescued pigs will reside. Immediately following the official 5K, we will host a family-friendly Fun Run, where you can take advantage of enjoying the sanctuary at a slower pace. During the Fun Run, everyone can travel at their own pace to our new pig habitat, where a tour guide will share our vision of the new pig homes.
The event includes delicious sweet and savory offerings from our vendors, EBN’s Vegan Cuisine and Season It Up Vegan, as well as a special trophy ceremony for winners. All participates who register before September 18th will receive:

Early bird registrations are $30 per person, and all proceeds benefit Phase 2 of The Pig Project, a campaign to build houses and other essential infrastructure so that we can provide rescued pigs with a forever home. On August 1st, early bird prices will end and regular registration will be $40 per person. Day of registration tickets are $50. So register now! Please note that we can only guarantee race t-shirts, swag bags, and finisher medals to individuals who register before September 18th.
Volunteer
Sign up to volunteer and help make our first ever 5k a great success! Volunteers will be needed for set up, during the event, and clean up.
