Meet Amazing Rescued Animals for FREE!
Due to a generous grant from The Summerlee Foundation, the Refuge is pleased to offer free transportation to and from the Refuge for current UNC students!
Throw on your best monster, animal, or character look—or just dress as yourself!—and join us for our Halloween Tour & Explore on November 1, which features pumpkin carving, vegan trick-or-treating, and informed, welcoming Guides in family-friendly costumes. We’ll also be handing out autumnal goodies for guests to feed our amazing animal residents on your self-guided tour of the Refuge.
Participants in the program receive free transportation on a charter bus, free admission to a sanctuary tour, and $25 vouchers to buy lunch at the on-site vegan food trucks.
If you can’t join us on November 1, you can still sign up for our November 29 tour below!
How it works:
1. Select the corresponding link below for the Tour you want to attend, and sign our waiver (be sure to use your UNC email address!).
2. On the day of the Tour, arrive at the designated campus location (sent via email upon signup) no later than 11 AM and board the charter bus.
3. Arrive at the Refuge around 11:20. You will receive your food vouchers and additional information at check-in. We will have a list of program participants, so no need to show a confirmation email.
4. Enjoy the tour and the amazing vegan food from our food truck vendors and please fill out our post-Tour survey so we can continue offering programs like this one.
5. Depart the Refuge for University Drive around 2 PM and tell all your friends about the amazing day you had with us!
