Due to a generous grant from The Summerlee Foundation, the Refuge is pleased to offer free transportation to and from the Refuge for current UNC grad and undergrad students!
Participants in the program receive free transportation on a charter bus, free admission to a sanctuary tour, and $25 vouchers to buy lunch at the on-site vegan food trucks. Students are also welcome to drive themselves.
The April tour is going to be particularly meaningful, as we will welcome guests into our Aviary and Disabled Duck House. One of our dedicated and knowledgeable Animal Caregivers will be there to introduce you to Hope, Pepita, Dinosaur, and Kristy and teach you about their unique environments.
How it works:
1.Select the corresponding link below for the Tour you want to attend, and sign our waiver (be sure to use your UNC email address!).
2. On the day of the Tour, arrive at the designated campus location(sent via email before the tour) no later than 11 AM and board the charter bus.
3. Arrive at the Refuge around 11:20. You will receive your food vouchers and additional information at check-in. We will have a list of program participants, so no need to show a confirmation email.
4.Enjoy the tour and the amazing vegan food from our food truck vendors and please fill out our post-Tour survey so we can continue offering programs like this one.
5. Depart the Refuge for University Drive around 2 PM and tell all your friends about the amazing day you had with us!
