Carmelita

Before arriving at the Refuge, Carmelita was found wandering near Pittsboro by a concerned and compassionate person who noticed that her wing had been injured. After safely capturing this vulnerable duck, she called us and sent us pictures. We quickly came and brought Carmelita to her new home! We immediately began working with the vet and caring for her injury, and it wasn’t long before her wing was mended and her sweet, outgoing personality emerged. Her energy is growing, and she’s already fitting in with her fellow duck and goose residents!
