Scout

Before coming to the Refuge, Scout found herself homeless and was wandering around an apartment complex in Greensboro, NC. With no safe housing or food, she was at risk from predators, cold weather, and starvation. Little Scout was even using the apartment building stairs as a makeshift "roost" to sleep on at night. Luckily, a kind woman who lived there recognized that Scout needed help, contacted our sanctuary, and drove her all the way to us. We were so grateful to this woman that Scout is named in her honor (after her middle name)! Now, Scout lives in peace with her fellow chickens at the Refuge
